MGI Construction Corp. was engaged to perform specialized excavation and earthworks at a Ford manufacturing project, supporting the installation of production line conveyor pits. The scope involved the excavation, shaping, and preparation of deep and shallow conveyor pits, ranging from the standard 7’-6” depth to modified shallow pits at 40” for slow, continuously moving in-line production systems. MGI’s work required precise excavation tolerances, structural support for pit walls, and careful sequencing across multiple station lines to maintain alignment with Ford’s in-line production requirements. This project showcased MGI’s expertise in highly technical industrial excavation, ensuring all pits met CSA and client-specific specifications while coordinating with broader plant construction schedules. By executing this complex scope safely and efficiently, MGI contributed to advancing Ford’s production capabilities and long-term manufacturing infrastructure.
