MGI Construction Corp. was engaged to perform earthworks and heavy civil services for the development of Hospice Whitby-Roger Anderson House, a new 10-bed residential hospice located at Prince of Wales Drive and Crawforth Street. The facility represents a vital expansion of palliative care in Durham Region, bringing the region’s total to 29 hospice beds after years of community fundraising and advocacy. MGI’s scope included bulk excavation, grading, and site servicing to prepare the property for vertical construction. These works established the critical foundation and underground infrastructure required for the new hospice, ensuring long-term durability and reliable operations. By contributing to this important community project, MGI helped enable the creation of a compassionate care facility where residents can receive dignity, comfort, and support at end-of-life.
