MGI Construction Corp. is all over town in Trenton. The scope of our current work in this beloved, Bay-of-Quinte community includes abatement and complete demolition projects at 20 South St, 165 Front St, 315 Front St, and 399 Dufferin Ave.
The 20 South St. location is a vacated school built originally in 1938 with an addition completed on the south elevation in 1969. The building has two stories plus one level below grade with a total area of 47,500 square feet. The structure consists of load-bearing masonry walls and steel columns supporting floors and roof levels consisting of steel deck and concrete slab on open web steel joists. Our team is capping existing utilities and reinstating approved backfill and compaction with 6" of topsoil and hydroseeding.
The 165 Front St. location is a vacated Firehall built in 1968—a building with one storey and a total area of 5,000 square feet. The structure consists of load-bearing masonry walls and steel columns supporting the roof and has a steel deck and concrete slab on open web steel joists. Here we are also capping existing utilities and reinstating approved backfill and compaction with 6" of topsoil and hydroseeding.
Finally, in addition to our residential work at 315 Front St., at 399 Dufferin Ave., we are doing the abatement and removal of a 65' diameter, 35' high decommissioned water tank constructed with steel riveted panels on a concrete slab and a valve chamber. The scope here also includes the demolition of the concrete substructure, reinstating approved backfill and—once again, our good friend—compaction with 6" of topsoil and hydroseeding.
